Okay so talk about 'long time no see'...haha It's been over one year since I posted a new entry here...I actually forgot I even had a blog here! LOL
I'm thinkin' I need to get busy & keep up with this better! So here I am :)
Nothing much has changed really...hehe I've just gotten older and meaner :D
Kids are growing like weeds...way too quickly as always! Can you believe my *baby* girl..my oldest kiddo & only daughter ..will be graduating High School in less than 5 short months now??!! I sure can't believe it either!! Currently she's finishing up all the 'work' on college app. stuff. I can't imagine her moving out and semi-'on her own' this very year! OMG!
The boys are wild little men as ever! Jakob is now 7 and halfway through 1st grade. He's such a sweet little boy..I'm so blessed to be called Mom by him :D
Gabriel turned 5 last October and he'll be entering Kindergarten this coming Fall. No way! My *baby* baby..starting school?? Where did the time go??!!
I'm still addicted to Incredimail and creating ..along with tut writing although I've been MIA & out of the loop there for some time now. I'm working to remedy that situation however :)
Okay enough of my boring ya... will try my best to keep this up-to-date :D
I'm thinking I may end up doing something here as a members' site update place I dunno.... we'll see..

Snow Day!
Hi everyone! Been a long while since I posted here huh? lol
Anyway, just thought I'd pop on and jot a few lines :)
We're getting our first 'big' snow of the season today! Well...when I say 'big' ...to many of you ..our 'big' would make you giggle! we have four inches right now...LOL Now, to *us* that is big...okay, maybe not big (even for us) but quite a bit all things considered LOL The kids are (of course) out of school and they've even 'closed' the base so Max isn't at work either. We've already been outside freezing and having a blast! The kids are inside now eating and having hot chocolate so they can warm up a bit...then they will no doubt be gearing up to get back out there and play! :) Here are some pics of our 'Winter Wonderland' and fun! :D

*sigh* any fellow Twilight junkies out there? :D
I finally finished all four of the books ....much to Autumn's delight I might add (she'd been after me to read the series since she read them months ago). So now we are gearing up for the movie premiere in just two weeks!!! We can't wait :)
I'm madly in love with Edward....(bite ME! haha)...and just totally enamored with his & Bella's story.....*sigh*

"Change Has Come"...he says......
..but has anyone, particularly those that stand in awe of him and very nearly worship him...who voted for him....really considered if this 'change' is a good thing or a bad, very bad, thing?

Yes, I am talking about Barack Obama...I refuse to even give him the title he 'won' today for many reasons.
Wow...I have yet to cease to be amazed at the rapt look of adoration on so many faces when he speaks. I do not see what those people see evidentally. I see 'change' too....but not for the better.
I am impressed on just one level...cannot help myself, I am only human after all. He really does command attention..he really is one heckuva speaker...and he does appear to have quite the hold on so many. However, my being impressed only exists very thinly ...because I know of someone that has been read about since the beginning of time that this describes and well, that terrifies me. And it bothers me that it doesn't do the same to so many others...
I think I'm saddened most of all by the fact that this election has been a huge mess....because of so many people voting based on things that should never come into play when making such a HUGELY affecting choice. It's a fact that many voted for Obama based solely on the fact that he is African American and against McCain for the same reasoning (because he is white). It's also a fact that many uninformed, uneducated were out (bused in for many) voting this election ...encouraged by others that in essence used their ignorance for their own agenda. It's sad....really.
I'm not saying that McCain is the 'be all to end all'...there are several 'issues' I have with him myself....however, after much research and spending time on my knees...I did choose to go with my heart and my morals/values/faith ...and voted for him. I truly believe, for America as a whole, he would have been far and away a better choice.
I am not thrilled with the outcome...I believe that much is obvious. And it has *nothing* to do with his race (I do not see color ..those that know me well realize this is true) or his political party (I am absolutely 100% UNaffiliated). I know MANY people who I call friends...as well as many in my own family ...disagree with me and voted opposite of me and that's okay. What a wondeful country this is huh? :) I guess I feel most sorry for those that believe in him so much....I will not find any satisfaction in the near future when they see the truth and realize just how huge of a mistake their part in today's election was....
But it is what it is....Obama is now elected and nothing changes that. I have to believe that God allowed this as part of his Perfect Plan for this country. I do not understand or see the good that could come of this but I know that if God allows it; it will be good in the end.
While so many around this world are 'celebrating' with tears today....I am here at home..with tears of my own as well; though they are wept for an entirely different reason..
yes....'change' has come....to that I say, May God have Mercy on us all.....

Yeah I'm gonna talk about me & mine for a bit...haha
why not? :D
So most anyone who'd be here reading already knows me..so not going to bore y'all with useless, boring details :D
Yesterday my *baby* boy ..my youngest, Gabriel..turned 4 years old!! Those years sure fly by huh? We'll be doing a bday party for him next weekend as this weekend was just way too full ...and he doesnt mind..at his age, he doesnt know or care about the date..just so long as he gets a cake and some ice cream :D hehe
Weekends go by way too fast too don't they? Wow...Sunday ...halfway gone no less... already?! Of course with band season in full swing it's constant 'on the move'.....however, next weekend is our last competition and then things will come to a major slow down. I am not sure I will know what to do with myself then lol
The competition last night was one heckuva time! Awesome sums it up nicely I think :) My girls (yeah the whole Color Guard are MY girls..hehe) brought home 2nd place Color Guard from their division....and they were 3rd place Color Guard OVERALL out of ALL competing divisions!! (there was some stiff competition there too lemme tell ya) I'm so proud of those girls I cannot even express how much! They have overcome so much this year with hurdles having been tossed in their way from almost day one. They have made such amazing progress *all by themselves*..you wouldnt believe it!
The band rocked too of course :D Taking home...1ST PLACE DRUM MAJOR...1ST PLACE MUSIC....1ST PLACE HORN LINE...3RD PLACE PERCUSSION...and.....1ST PLACE OVERALL in their division....AND AND AND... 2nd place (by only 2 little points) Grand Champion!!! out of 13 bands there!!! That's right....:D
Sooooo grand improvement from last week..haha Anyhoo...the kids really worked so hard and they so deserved this boost! GO MARCHING TROJANS!!
So now..this week they (band) are not travelling to the away game Friday night...because Saturday (1st) is a major big long day for them as they will be competing at Cary Band Day (it's a pretty big deal here) and they will be marching in the parade that kicks that band comp off. They have to be there fr parade lineup at/around 7:30am (it takes approx. 45 minutes for us to get there)
and then they do the parade but their performance time isn't until like 3:45 in the afternoon ...yikes! So they'll wait for that...not long after will be the awards ceremony for their division...I think that's to be around 6pm-ish. They are pumped up and excited about it now. They usually go to this particular band day 'for the experience'...because this one is way tough with competition. But I dunno..this year they may just have a fighting chance :D
